Whether currently in retirement or contemplating future retirement, it’s imperative to understand legal issues facing older Americans. Pitt Professor Emeritus of Law and one of the founders of the field of elder law, Lawrence Frolik will offer an important presentation covering an introduction to aging in America, powers of attorney, guardianship, and planning your estate.

Lawrence A. Frolik, Professor Emeritus of Law, is one of the founders of the field of elder law. He has published widely on law and aging issues as well as legal issues faced by persons with disabilities. He has served as Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Elder Law Section, on the Executive Council of the Pennsylvania AARP, and was a Fellow on the Academic Advisory Council of TIAA-CREF. He was named to the Council of Advanced Practitioners of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and in 1995 was a Congressional appointed delegate to the White House Conference on Aging.
